I bought this phone specifically to flash a custom ROM on it (MiUi is just the worst) and I was very pleasantly surprised when I turned it on and the bootloader was already unlocked. Usually Xiaomi makes you jump through a bunch of hoops registering accounts and waiting 168 hours to unlock a device (that you own) but this phone, while looking and feeling like it’s brand new, turned out to be even better than new. I flashed crDroid on it that same night. However I thought it would be worthwhile to mention that the bootloader comes unlocked here in case anyone who wants to keep using the Xiaomi spyware will be upset by such things, althought I doubt any extremely security conscious customers are interested in phones whose official support ended back on Android 11. (multiple Android 14 based roms available for this device tho – it’s a way better phone than the manufacturer allows it to be). 128GB/6GB Up to date Android for under a hundred bucks – now that’s a great deal
